Rosen Statement Denouncing Supreme Court Decision Gutting Federal Regulatory Ability to Protect Americans

The Supreme Court Decision Will Weaken The Power Of Federal Agencies To Protect The Environment, Public Health, Workplace Safety, And More

LAS VEGAS, NV – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) released the following statement on the Supreme Court’s decision in Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo that overturned the longstanding “Chevron Doctrine,” reducing the power of federal agencies to use statutory authority to protect the environment, public health, workplace safety, and more.

“The Supreme Court’s outrageous decision today is yet another example of our nation’s highest court giving in to far-right extremists to overturn longstanding precedent to weaken the federal government’s ability to protect families and keep people safe,” said Senator Rosen. “This ruling is deeply concerning and it will weaken our ability to enforce clean air and water standards, keep people safe in the workplace, and so much more. The consequences of this misguided decision will be far-reaching and they will be felt for generations to come.”
