Rosen Commemorates 85th Anniversary of Social Security

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), a member of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP), released the following statement commemorating the 85th anniversary of the Social Security Act:

“Today, we celebrate the 85th anniversary of Social Security. This historic legislation, signed by President Roosevelt, transformed American lives by providing economic security to our hard-working senior citizens,” said Senator Rosen. “Unfortunately, Social Security continues to face attacks by this Administration, and we cannot allow a program so critical to the lives of Americans to be sabotaged. Nevadans worked hard to earn these benefits, and for many, Social Security is a critical lifeline. I will continue working to protect Social Security and ensure that our seniors and future generations benefit from our nation’s promise.”
