LAS VEGAS, NV – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) toured a UPS facility in Las Vegas where COVID-19 vaccinations are being managed and delivered to vaccine distribution sites throughout the Silver State. Senator Rosen spoke with the workers who run the facility about operations and logistics needed to support vaccination efforts in Nevada, as well as the support provided for vaccinations in the recently enacted American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, which Senator Rosen voted in support of.
“Vaccines are a key tool in our effort to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Senator Rosen. “Today, I visited the hardworking men and women who oversee vaccine delivery operations in our state and ensure that Nevadans are able to receive their vaccinations. This major public health initiative has been bolstered by the provisions I helped to secure as part of the American Rescue Plan, including over $6 billion in funding for the vaccine supply chain. As we work to beat COVID-19, I will continue my efforts to protect the health and well-being of all Nevadans.”
BACKGROUND: Senator Rosen helped secure over $93 billion in support for public health programs – including delivery and distribution of COVID-19 vaccines, testing and tracing, funding for community health centers, and expanding access to PPE – as part of the American Rescue Plan.
