LAS VEGAS, NV – Yesterday, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), a member of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions( HELP), joined the Nevada chapter of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) to take part in a town hall discussion focused on supporting workers’ rights, including the rights of home and long-term caregivers – a career field that has faced difficult challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“SEIU does incredible work to fight for working families in Nevada, and it is critical that we ensure workers in our state have the rights that they deserve and the protections they need,” said Senator Rosen. “COVID-19 has posed significant challenges for our state’s workforce, and especially for the men and women who have been on the frontlines of this pandemic – nurses, caregivers, and medical professionals have worked tirelessly to protect our health and the health of our communities. It was an honor to speak to them today, and I want these health care heroes to know that I have their back and that I will continue my efforts to see that they are provided respect, dignity, and support.”
