WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, applauded U.S. special operations forces on their successful counterterrorism raid in northwest Syria, which resulted in the death of top ISIS leader Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi, also known as Hajji Abdullah:
“Thanks to the remarkable courage and competence of our special operations forces, this successful counterterrorism raid resulted in the death of the top ISIS leader without any American casualties. The United States and the world are safer now, but ISIS remains a clear and present danger,” said Senator Rosen. “I look forward to receiving an intelligence briefing on this operation as a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, and I will continue to advocate for our servicemembers and ensure they have the resources and support needed to defend our national security.”
