Senator Rosen Secured This Funding Through The American Rescue Plan
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) released the following statement applauding the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) for awarding $14.9 million in funding to support workforce development projects in manufacturing, health care, information technology, and transportation across northern Nevada. Senator Rosen helped secure this funding for Nevadaworks, Northern Nevada’s local workforce board, to strengthen workforce training programs that will create good-paying jobs and support Nevada’s key industries.
“As Nevada’s key industries and economy continue to grow, we must continue to ensure our workers have the training and resources they need to pursue careers in fields like technology and manufacturing,” said Senator Rosen. “I’m proud to have helped secure this funding that will create good-paying jobs and help meet the demands of Nevada’s growing industries.”
Senator Rosen has been a champion for Nevada’s economy and its workers. She helped pass the American Rescue Plan, which was signed into law last year and included $3 billion in supplemental funding to assist communities nationwide in their efforts to accelerate economic recovery from the pandemic and be more resilient to future economic shocks. Senator Rosen worked to ensure the American Rescue Plan’s $3 billion in EDA funding was directed to communities and states hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, including Nevada.
