WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) released the following statement honoring the memory of those lost in the tragic mass shooting on October 1, 2017 in Las Vegas. Last week, Senator Rosen spoke on the floor of the U.S. Senate to honor the victims and survivors, praise the heroism of first responders, and call on both parties to pass bipartisan legislation to ban bump stocks.
“It’s been seven years since the 1 October shooting that forever changed the lives of so many Nevadans and our entire state,” said Senator Rosen. “Today, we remember the innocent lives lost and all those impacted by the horrible attack, and we honor the heroism of our first responders and health care workers. In that dark moment, we saw our community come together and show remarkable resilience. I will continue working in the Senate to take bipartisan, commonsense action to ban bump stocks like those used on 1 October and prevent future tragedies like this one.”
