WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) released the following statement honoring the memory of the victims of the October 1, 2017 shooting in Las Vegas. Senator Rosen recently spoke on the floor of the Senate to honor the victims and survivors of that tragic day, express her gratitude to the heroic first responders, and urge further action to prevent gun violence.
“Six years ago, a horrible tragedy struck our state and left its mark forever. We honor the memory of the innocent lives cut short, the survivors, and the families of all those impacted by that horrific night,” said Senator Rosen. “At this dark moment, we saw our community go above and beyond to help others. Our heroic first responders ran into harm’s way to help, and thousands of Nevadans donated blood to save lives. I’m committed to making sure no other community feels this kind of pain by advocating for continued bipartisan action to reduce gun violence.”
