Senator Rosen Was Part Of Bipartisan Group That Drafted The Landmark Legislation, Which Is Delivering $3.2 Billion To Support More Than 194 Projects In Nevada So Far
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) is celebrating the second anniversary of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which she helped write and pass. This landmark law is helping to increase Nevadans’ access to high-speed internet, modernizing Nevada’s airports, increasing drought and wildfire preparedness, upgrading our roads and bridges, and so much more. Senator Rosen helped write key airport and broadband sections of the bill and secured critical wins for Nevada. The final infrastructure package also incorporated three of Senator Rosen’s bills: the Middle Mile Broadband Deployment Act, the TOURISM Act, and the Cyber Sense Act.
“Thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that I helped write and pass, Nevada is receiving $3.2 billion for more than 194 projects so far throughout our state,” said Senator Rosen. “From creating good-paying jobs by modernizing our infrastructure, to supporting Nevada’s tourism economy by upgrading our airports and transportation, to delivering faster and more reliable internet to households across our state, this historic law is already delivering for Nevada families. I’ll keep working in a bipartisan way to deliver for our state.”
To date, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law has provided Nevada with:
- Nearly $2 billion for Nevada’s roads, bridges, roadway safety, and major projects.
- Around $460 million to provide affordable, high-speed internet to all Nevadans, including:
- $416.7 million through the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program to provide access to high-speed internet to everyone in Nevada.
- $43.5 million in funding to expand middle-mile infrastructure that Senator Rosen secured for the state.
- 250,000 Nevada households enrolled in the Affordable Connectivity Program
- $203 million to provide clean and safe water across the state and improve water infrastructure.
- Approximately $149 million for airports to replace and modernize airport infrastructure.
- More than $180 million to improve public transportation options across the state.
- Nearly $10 million through the Clean School Bus Program, and nearly $19 million for clean transit buses and improved bus service.
- Approximately $22 million to build out a network of electric vehicle chargers across Nevada.
- More than $156 million for clean energy, energy efficiency, and power in Nevada.
- More than $72 million to bolster infrastructure resilience against pressing challenges like impacts of climate change and extreme weather events.
- Approximately $4 million for cleaning up brownfield sites.
