WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), a member of the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee, participated in a virtual discussion with Nevada restaurant owners. During their meeting, Senator Rosen talked with the small business owners about her work in Congress to support Nevada restaurant owners and employees during the coronavirus pandemic.
“Across the country, the restaurant industry is facing incredible challenges in dealing with the fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic. That’s particularly true in Nevada where tourism is at the center of our economy,” said Senator Rosen. “We must make sure that restaurant owners have the resources they need to remain in business, and ensure that our restaurant workers feel safe and protected when they are back on the job.”
BACKGROUND: Senator Rosen is a co-sponsor of the bipartisan RESTAURANTS Act, legislation which would create a $120 billion grant program at the U.S. Treasury Department to provide meaningful financial relief to eligible restaurants and other food and drink businesses that could be used for payroll, benefits, mortgage, rent, utilities, maintenance, supplies, food, and debt obligations to suppliers.
