WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) commemorated Veterans Day by announcing her office has released an updated Veterans Resource Guide, which includes resource and contact information for veteran services and numerous other benefits offered at the Federal, State, and Local levels to assist Nevada’s veterans, those transitioning from military service, and their families. The resource guide is available online here, and physical copies can be obtained from Senator Rosen’s offices in Las Vegas, Reno, and Washington, D.C.
“It’s because of the courage and sacrifices made by those who have served our nation in uniform that we are able to enjoy the freedoms that mean so much to us as Nevadans and Americans,” said Senator Rosen, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee. “On Veterans Day, we honor the brave men and women who have placed their lives on the line to protect our way of life and recommit to supporting them and their families in every way we can. I’m honored to represent Nevada’s veterans in the Senate and will never stop fighting to ensure they have the tools and support they need.”
Senator Rosen has introduced numerous bipartisan bills that she is championing to support Nevada’s veterans succeed in their transition to civilian life:
- Veteran Jobs Opportunity Act to help veterans start small businesses in underserved communities by creating a small business startup tax credit.
- Veteran Education Empowerment Act to establish and improve Student Veterans Centers at universities and colleges to help student veterans.
- Hire Student Veterans Act to provide an enhanced tax credit to businesses that hire veterans who are using their GI benefits and taking advantage of work opportunities while still in school, including part-time and over the summer break.
