Senate-Passed Bill Contains Senator Rosen’s Provision To Support Advanced Manufacturing Jobs
HENDERSON, NV – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) visited Lithion Battery, a major battery manufacturing company that opened a 140,000 sq ft facility in Henderson last year, where she discussed the Bipartisan Innovation and Competition Package and how it will support domestic manufacturing. Lithion manufactures cells and battery packs serving industrial, medical, robotic, military/defense and energy markets. The Senate-passed bill helps address manufacturers’ supply chain challenges and contains Senator Rosen’sbipartisan amendment to address the skills gap between qualified workers and advanced manufacturing jobs, based on her Advanced Manufacturing Jobs in America Act. Senator Rosen was joined by representatives from the battery manufacturing company.

Senator Rosen has been a leader in fighting for workforce development and strengthening the domestic supply chain. As a member of the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, she secured a provisionin the Bipartisan Innovation and Competition Package to support advanced manufacturing workforce development and help to fill the gap caused by the growth of U.S. advanced manufacturing jobs. The overall package would enhance America’s scientific, technological, and industrial competitiveness through investments in research and development, STEM education, cybersecurity, and domestic manufacturing.
