LAS VEGAS, NV – Today, U.S. Senators Jacky Rosen (D-NV) and Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) applauded news that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced that Nevada will be receiving $8.7 million in a federal grant for water infrastructure improvements. This funding comes from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that both Senators helped pass.
“I’m proud to have helped secure funding through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to ensure Nevada communities have access to clean water,” said Senator Rosen. “This historic funding will help to repair our water infrastructure and better manage wastewater, and will take important steps toward keeping Nevadans safe and healthy.”
“I helped pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law so Nevada could benefit from critical updates to its drinking water and wastewater infrastructure,” said Senator Cortez Masto. “I’m glad to see these funds coming to our state for much-needed upgrades, and I’ll continue working to make sure that Nevadans benefit from these long-term investments.”
Senators Rosen and Cortez Masto have been strong advocates for improving Nevada’s access to clean water. Earlier this year, Senators Rosen and Cortez Masto helped pass the bipartisan Water Resources Development Act of 2022 (WRDA), which would improve and invest in key water infrastructure systems in Nevada and throughout the country. They also secured nearly $1 million through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law for the Southern Nevada Water Authority to fund the restoration of the Las Vegas Wash.
