WASHINGTON, DC – Today, on the one-year anniversary of Russia’s brutal and unprovoked invasion of Ukraine, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), a member of the bipartisan Senate NATO Observer Group, urged continued bipartisan support in Congress for the Ukrainian people as they continue to fight to defend their country against Russian aggression.
“Over the past year, the world has witnessed the horrific and brutal atrocities committed by Russia against Ukraine,” said Senator Rosen. “In this past year, we have also seen the incredible resolve of the Ukrainian people to defend their country, democracy, and sovereignty. The United States has rallied our allies to ensure Ukraine has the resources needed to win this war, and we cannot let up. One year after this unprovoked invasion happened, we recommit ourselves to continuing to lead the robust international coalition we’ve formed and show the world that we remain united in support of democracy and freedom.”
Senator Rosen has been a steadfast supporter of Ukraine and its effort to repel Russia’s brutal and unprovoked invasion. She has been an advocate in the Senate for providing Ukraine with defensive resources and support and has repeatedly called to isolate and hold Russia accountable for its unjust actions, crimes, and abuses. Last year, Senator Rosen visited Poland and Germany as part of a bipartisan Congressional delegation to meet with key NATO partners, meet with top military leaders, and gain insight into how Congress can continue to support the Ukrainian people across the border. Rosen has also actively called to strengthen and expand the NATO Alliance.
