WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) announced her co-sponsorship of a resolution designating September 22nd through September 28th as Gold Star Families Remembrance Week, honoring the families of our fallen servicemembers.
“Our Gold Star Families have made an immense sacrifice in defense of our nation,” said Senator Rosen. “The pain of losing a child, a parent, a sibling, or a spouse in service to our country is profound. We can never truly know what it means to carry the Gold Star pins that our Gold Star families wear. I will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that the families of our fallen have the support and services they deserve.”
BACKGROUND: This resolution encourages the observance of “Gold Star Families Remembrance Week” by performing acts of service and good will in our communities and celebrating the lives of those who made the ultimate sacrifice. The resolution also observes National Gold Star Mother’s Day, which falls on September 29th this year.
