LAS VEGAS, NV – U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), a member of the Senate Committee on Small Business & Entrepreneurship, spoke at the Urban Chamber of Commerce Women in Politics and Business Awards Luncheon.
“Our state’s small business community plays a vital role in supporting Nevada’s economy,” said Senator Rosen. “The innovative, trailblazing women who I had the pleasure of recognizing at today’s luncheon are making waves in politics and business and are stepping up to lead in more ways than one. By empowering women and minority entrepreneurs, we can further diversify our local economy, building stronger communities along the way. I’ll continue to be supportive of smart, pro-growth policies that specifically help women and minority-owned businesses receive incentives, access to capital, and other important resources that will help their businesses succeed.”
BACKGROUND: Last Congress, then-Congresswoman Rosen was one of a small group of Democrats to receive the U.S. Chamber’s Spirit of Enterprise Award for her support for pro-growth policies in the first session of the 115th Congress. Rosen was one of only 13 Democrats in Congress to receive the award this year. Nevada is home to more than 200,000 small businesses.
