CARSON CITY, NV –Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) toured the Richards Crossing Housing Complex in Carson City. Richards Crossing Housing Complex provides housing to low-income and homeless individuals through project based-vouchers and the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Veterans Affairs and Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) Vouchers. Just last week, Rosen led a bipartisan group of 22 Senators in sending a letter to Senate appropriators, requesting robust funding for the HUD-VASH program, which combines HUD’s Housing Choice Voucher rental assistance program for low-income renters with case management and clinical services for veterans provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
“All Nevadans, and especially our veterans, deserve to find a safe and affordable place to call home,” dijo el Senador Rosen. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to tour the Richards Crossing Complex and to meet with the residents there who aren’t just building a home, they’re building a life. I will continue to support robust funding for programs like HUD-VASH along with other policies aimed at addressing our affordable housing crisis.”
