Rosen Joins Video Conference with Las Vegas Urban Chamber of Commerce, Discusses Resources for Small Businesses

LAS VEGAS, NV – U.S. Senator Jacky Rosa (D-NV), a member of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, participated in a video conference with members of the Las Vegas Urban Chamber of Commerce and U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Nevada District Director Joe Amato to provide an update on the federal government’s COVID-19 response, discuss her actions to support Nevada’s economy, and answer questions from Las Vegas Urban Chamber of Commerce members.

“The impact of COVID-19 has been felt across our state’s small business communities,” said Senator Rosen. “I’m glad to have this chance to speak with members of the Las Vegas Urban Chamber of Commerce to discuss the federal resources that are available to Nevada small businesses, as well as to hear how we can better work to assist minority-owned businesses. I will continue working in Congress to support all of Nevada’s businesses during this difficult time.

BACKGROUND: Senator Rosa previously partnered with Nevada’s Small Business Administration regional representatives and local Chambers of Commerce and organizations, including the Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce, the Reno-Sparks Chamber of Commerce, the Nevada REALTORS, the Las Vegas Latin Chamber of Commerce, and the Las Vegas Asian Chamber of Comercio to provide updates on the federal government’s response to the COVID-19 crisis and answer questions on access to federal resources.

Senator Rosa was recently appointed to serve on the President’s bipartisan Opening Up America Again Congressional Group.

Earlier this month, Senators Rosen and Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) joined a letter calling for the Small Business Administration (SBA) and Treasury Department to ensure that minority-owned businesses are not shut out of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP).

Senator Rosen’s office is working every day to ensure Nevadans stay up to date on the latest news regarding the coronavirus, as well as provide a list of resources to assist Nevadans.

Senator Rosen’s website includes an online resource portal to assist small businesses in Nevada affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Small businesses that are experiencing difficulties navigating federal assistance can also send their inquiries and questions to SmallBusiness@Rosen.Senate.gov, and a team of dedicated professionals will respond to provide assistance.
