WASHINGTON DC – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) announced that $58.3 million in Federal Aviation Administration funding will go to airports across Nevada, including almost $44 million to Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, $6.8 million to the Reno-Tahoe International Airport, $1.9 million to the Boulder City Municipal Airport, and $1 million to the Elko Regional Airport. An additional 22 airports in Nevada also received funding totaling nearly $4.5 million.
This funding comes from the Airport Infrastructure Grants Program included in the recently enacted bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. Senator Rosen was part of the bipartisan group of 22 senators that negotiated and drafted the final infrastructure package, and she helped write the airport section of the bill that secured this critical funding for Nevada’s airports.
“Nevada’s airports are the gateways to our state for visitors from across the country and around the world, and I’m honored to have helped deliver these funds as a member of the bipartisan working group that wrote the airport section of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act,” dijo el Senador Rosen. “The $58 million headed to Nevada is a game-changer that will deliver long-overdue resources to expand, upgrade, and modernize our airports all over the state.”
los Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act includes $25 billion in overall investment for airport infrastructure:
- $15 billion in flexible spending to allow airports to fund their key construction, expansion, upgrade, and repair projects;
- $5 billion for Airport Terminal Program to allow bigger airports to access larger amounts of money in order to build their higher cost terminal projects; and
- $5 billion for upgrades to Air Traffic Control facilities.
