New Grants Funded by the American Rescue Plan Will Benefit Western Folklife Center in Elko, Churchill Arts Council in Fallon, the Reno Chamber Orchestra, and the City of Henderson
RENO, NV – U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) applauded the news that the National Endowment for the Arts has awarded $400,000 in grants to four Nevada organizations to support their personnel expenses in response to and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. This funding is part of the American Rescue Plan, which Rosen voted for last year. The grants include $150,000 to the Western Folklife Center in Elko, $50,000 to the Churchill Arts Council in Fallon, $50,000 to the Reno Chamber Orchestra, and $150,000 to the City of Henderson.
“Arts and music programs are an essential part of our culture and our communities in Nevada. These grants will help important local organizations across the state make ends meet and keep operating for the public as they navigate the ongoing challenges of the pandemic,” dijo el Senador Rosen. “This is yet another example of how the American Rescue Plan is continuing to invest in our communities, delivering resources that benefit all Nevadans and strengthening our economic recovery.”
The American Rescue Plan, which Senator Rosen voted for last year, includes supplemental funding to assist communities in their efforts to accelerate recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and rebuild critical components of their economies.
