WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Senators Jacky Rosen (D-NV), a member of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) introduced their bipartisan One Stop Shop for Small Business Licensing Act, which would require the Small Business Administration (SBA) to create a centralized website for licensing and business permit information and materials for small businesses.
“Small businesses are the heart of Nevada’s economy, making up 99 percent of all businesses in the state,” dijo el Senador Rosen. “My bipartisan legislation will help reduce the burden on new small businesses by cutting through bureaucratic red tape to ensure they have the support and resources to get up and running.”
“In West Virginia, small businesses are an essential part of our economy. In fact, they make up more than 98% of businesses in West Virginia and employ nearly half of our workforce. That’s why Congress needs to continue taking steps to make it easier for small businesses to get operations off the ground and running,” said Senator Capito. “I’m proud to introduce the One Stop Shop for Small Business Licensing Act, and lend a helping hand to America’s small business owners by requiring an easily accessible web feature to help them navigate complex state and federal operating requirements.”

Senator Rosen has actively worked to protect and promote small businesses. Last month, Senator Rosen led a bipartisan letter to SBA Administrator Guzman encouraging the creation of this centralized website. She also secured over $2 million through the American Rescue Plan to help Nevada’s small businesses overcome the impacts of COVID-19. Senator Rosen is also the lead sponsor of the Minority Entrepreneurship Grant Program Act, bipartisan legislation to provide grants to Minority-Serving Institutions (MSIs) and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to increase opportunities for minority student small business ownership and entrepreneurship.
