LAS VEGAS, NV – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) released the following statement honoring the memory of those who died during the 1 October shooting in Las Vegas, recommitting to supporting loved ones and survivors, and praising those who offered assistance during the horrific attack. Earlier this week, Senator Rosen spoke on the floor of the U.S. Senate honoring the victims and urging greater federal action to prevent mass shootings.
“On this day five years ago, tragedy struck our state. We continue to remember the innocent lives that were cut short, the hundreds of individuals who suffered injuries, the families who were impacted, and the survivors of that horrible night,” dijo el Senador Rosen. “As we come together today to reflect on 1 October, I’m joining with Nevadans to honor our brave first responders, our health care heroes, and everyday citizens who helped save others. In the Senate, I will continue fighting for legislative action to permanently ban bump stocks and high-capacity magazines, which made this devastating attack what remains the deadliest mass shooting in American history. My thoughts today are with all of the victims, survivors, their families, and our resilient community.”
