Funding Comes In Part From The Rosen-Backed American Rescue Plan
WASHINGTON DC — U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) announced that Nevada will receive nearly $33 million in grant funding to improve critical public health infrastructure. This grant funding comes through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Strengthening U.S. Public Health Infrastructure, Workforce, and Data Systems grant program, supported in part by the American Rescue Plan Act that Senator Rosen helped pass last year.
“These last few years have made it clear that we must invest in the critical institutions that protect public health,” dijo el Senador Rosen. “That’s why I’m proud to announce nearly $33 million in federal funding will come to Nevada to strengthen our public health system and continue protecting families across our state.”
This grant funding will help support state, local, and territorial health departments in maintaining the staff, services, and systems needed to promote and protect community health.
Grant funding awardees in Nevada include:
- Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health – $9,958,802
- Southern Nevada Health District – $22,889,114
Senator Rosen continues to advocate for investments in our public health institutions and professionals. In October, President Biden signed Rosen’s bipartisan, bicameral Maximizing Outcomes through Better Investments in Lifesaving Equipment for (MOBILE) Health Care Act into law. The legislation, developed alongside Senator Susan Collins (R-ME), and Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03), provides community health centers with the flexibility to use federal funds to establish new, mobile health care delivery sites.
