WASHINGTON DC – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) joined fellow Democratic women Senators in the U.S. Capitol to renew calls to protect access to abortion ahead of the one-year mark since the Supreme Court decision that overturned women’s rights to make decisions over their own body. In her remarks, Senator Rosen promised to strongly oppose any efforts by anti-choice Republicans to pass a national abortion ban.

“In the year since the Supreme Court struck down Roe v. Wade, attempts to ban abortion and restrict women’s reproductive rights have been relentless, and these dangerous actions have had devastating consequences for women,” dijo el Senador Rosen. “And what’s even worse is that some extreme Republicans want to go even further, banning abortion nationally. This would threaten or even ban abortion in pro-choice states like my state of Nevada. As long as I’m here and Senate Democrats remain in the majority, we won’t let a restrictive abortion ban pass.”

Senator Rosen continues fighting back against efforts to restrict access to abortion in Nevada and nationwide. Recently, Senator Rosen helped introduce the Let Doctors Provide Reproductive Health Care Act to protect doctors and other health care professionals from being prosecuted for providing reproductive care to their patients. Senator Rosen also helped introduce the Women’s Health Protection Act to enshrine Roe v. Wade in federal law by creating federal rights to abortion care for patients and providers and protects against medically unnecessary restrictions that undermine Americans’ access to health care and intrude upon personal decision-making.
