Rosen Helps Introduce Bipartisan Bill to Strengthen Abraham Accords

Legislation Would Create A Special Presidential Envoy To Help Bolster Normalization Between Israel and U.S. Partners In The Middle East And Beyond

WASHINGTON DC – U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), co-chair of the Senate Abraham Accords Caucus, joined her colleagues in introducing the bipartisan Regional Integration and Normalization Act to bolster efforts to normalize relations between Israel and U.S. partners in the Middle East and beyond. The legislation helps build upon the Abraham Accords by creating a Special Presidential Envoy empowered to coordinate a whole-of-government approach to Israeli normalization and regional integration. The comprehensive package also includes Senator Rosen’s bipartisan Abraham Accords Cybersecurity Cooperation Act of 2023 to strengthen U.S. cybersecurity partnerships with Abraham Accords countries.

“The Abraham Accords are transforming the Middle East, enhancing Israel’s security, and creating new economic opportunities. We must continue pushing for the success of these historic agreements,” dijo el Senador Rosen. “I’m proud to help introduce this bipartisan bill that would establish a presidential envoy to lead the United States’ efforts to deepen and expand normalization, strengthen our cybersecurity cooperation with Abraham Accords countries, and advance regional economic integration that provides tangible benefits to people across the Middle East.”

As a founding member of the Senate Abraham Accords Caucus, Senator Rosen has been leading efforts to strengthen Arab-Israeli normalization. Earlier this week, Senator Rosen led the Abraham Accords Caucuses in both the Senate and the House to welcome Israeli President Issac Herzog to the United States. Rosen also led the caucus in introducing the bipartisan Maritime Architecture and Response to International Terrorism in the Middle East (MARITIME) Act to require the Department of Defense to develop a strategy with partners and allies in the Middle East to counter maritime threats posed by Iran.
