Legislation Would Create A Special Presidential Envoy To Help Bolster Normalization Between Israel and U.S. Partners In The Middle East And Beyond
WASHINGTON DC – U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), co-chair of the Senate Abraham Accords Caucus, joined her colleagues in introducing the bipartisan Regional Integration and Normalization Act to bolster efforts to normalize relations between Israel and U.S. partners in the Middle East and beyond. The legislation helps build upon the Abraham Accords by creating a Special Presidential Envoy empowered to coordinate a whole-of-government approach to Israeli normalization and regional integration. The comprehensive package also includes Senator Rosen’s bipartisan Abraham Accords Cybersecurity Cooperation Act of 2023 to strengthen U.S. cybersecurity partnerships with Abraham Accords countries.

As a founding member of the Senate Abraham Accords Caucus, Senator Rosen has been leading efforts to strengthen Arab-Israeli normalization. Earlier this week, Senator Rosen led the Abraham Accords Caucuses in both the Senate and the House to welcome Israeli President Issac Herzog to the United States. Rosen also led the caucus in introducing the bipartisan Maritime Architecture and Response to International Terrorism in the Middle East (MARITIME) Act to require the Department of Defense to develop a strategy with partners and allies in the Middle East to counter maritime threats posed by Iran.
