Rosen Awarded National Guard Association’s Charles Dick Medal of Merit

WASHINGTON DC – U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, was awarded the National Guard Association of the United States (NGAUS) Charles Dick Medal of Merit. The award recognizes the contributions to the National Guard by elected state and national legislative representatives. The medal is named in honor of Major General Charles Dick, NGAUS president from 1902 to 1909, a Congressman, and later a Senator.

“The brave men and women of the Nevada National Guard risk their lives to keep Americans in our state, across the country, and around the world safe from threats, and I’m proud to have worked to ensure they have the support and resources they need to do their jobs,” said Senator Rosen. “I’m honored to receive this award, and I will continue making sure our servicemembers have access to the support they need to continue serving our country proudly.”

Senator Rosen has been a strong advocate for our country’s servicemembers. Rosen recently helped pass the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2024 (NDAA), which provided a 5.2% pay raise for American servicemembers, and included Rosen-led victories that urge the Secretary of Defense to modify the process for Reservists and Guardsmen transitioning from Active Duty orders back to their Reserve status in order to better serve their needs and circumstances, such as help with the completion of any financial reimbursement for costs incurred during deployment. In addition, she secured provisions to expand mental health and family support services, such as childcare, for those who have served at remote installations like Creech Air Force Base and Naval Air Station Fallon.
