WASHINGTON DC – U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) announced that bipartisan legislation she co-sponsored to crack down on international fentanyl trafficking passed the Senate this week and was signed into law yesterday. The bipartisan FEND Off Fentanyl Act will require the President to sanction drug rings involved in international drug trafficking, including cartels from Mexico and chemical suppliers in China. It will also crack down on fentanyl-related money laundering and officially declare fentanyl trafficking a national emergency – freeing up additional federal resources to combat the fentanyl crisis. This legislation was included in the bipartisan supplemental aid package that passed out of the Senate this week.
