Rosen Votes in Favor of Protecting Right to Birth Control, Anti-Choice Republicans Block Passage

WASHINGTON DC – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) released the following statement after anti-choice Senate Republicans blocked the passage of the Right to Contraception Act that she helped introduce.

“When the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, it opened the floodgates to attacks on reproductive freedoms across our nation. Anti-choice extremists have now made it clear that their next target is going after a woman’s constitutional right to access birth control and make their own family planning decisions,” dijo el Senador Rosen. “That’s why I voted to pass the Right to Contraception Act and protect this fundamental freedom, but anti-choice Republicans in the Senate shamefully blocked it. This fight is not over: as long as I’m in the Senate, I’ll always stand up to protect women’s ability to make decisions over their own bodies without interference from out-of-touch politicians.”

Senator Rosen continues fighting back against efforts to restrict access to reproductive rights. Senator Rosen helped introduce the Let Doctors Provide Reproductive Health Care Act to protect doctors and other health care professionals from being prosecuted for providing reproductive care to their patients. Senator Rosen also helped introduce the Women’s Health Protection Act to protect reproductive freedoms in federal law.
