RENO, NV – Last week, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) attended the ribbon cutting for Reno Housing Authority’s Dick Scott Manor, which will provide housing for low-income and homeless veterans. This new development is part of the Home Means Nevada Initiative, which was created thanks to $500 million from the American Rescue Plan Act that Senator Rosen helped pass.
“Our veterans bravely served our nation, and we all have a responsibility to ensure they have everything they need,” dijo el Senador Rosen. “Dick Scott Manor will provide new, affordable housing for veterans in Reno, and I’m proud to have helped pass the legislation that made funding for this project possible. I’ll keep working in a bipartisan way to make sure Nevada’s veterans get all of the benefits and services they deserve.”
Senator Rosen has been fighting to lower housing costs for all Nevadans. Earlier this year, she urged Senate Appropriators to provide funding to address the affordable housing crisis and help veterans find safe and affordable housing through rental assistance. Senator Rosen recently introduced the Housing Oversight and Mitigating Exploitation (HOME) Act to crack down on housing price gouging by corporate investors who are driving up home prices by buying up housing stock.
