WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) helped pass a bipartisan bill out of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee to help cut the red tape that is making it harder to bring missing servicemembers home. The Bring Our Heroes Home Act, which Senator Rosen co-sponsored, would eliminate obstacles preventing caseworkers and families from accessing the records needed to recover American prisoners of war (POWs) and personnel considered missing in action (MIA). This legislation can now be considered by the full Senate.
“Our nation has a responsibility to bring all of our servicemembers home,” dijo el Senador Rosen. “I’m proud to have helped pass this bipartisan bill through committee, which will remove bureaucratic barriers to make it easier for families to identify and recover our nation’s heroes.”
Senator Rosen has been leading bipartisan efforts to deliver for Nevada’s servicemembers and veterans. Earlier this year, she introduced bipartisan legislation to provide every transitioning servicemember with documentation outlining their military certifications and qualifications to use when applying for a job. She also recently helped pass bipartisan legislation to allocate billions of dollars for PACT Act benefits. Additionally, Rosen introduced bipartisan legislation to permanently maintain a helpline for veterans to obtain information and assistance with VA services.
