WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) helped pass bipartisan, bicameral legislation out of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee to help enhance border security and combat human trafficking. The Cooperation on Combating Human Smuggling and Trafficking Act will direct the Secretary of Homeland Security to expand partnerships with law enforcement entities in Mexico, and Central and South American countries to combat human trafficking operations.
“Human trafficking is an international crime with devastating effects on communities across Nevada,” dijo el Senador Rosen. “I’m proud to have helped pass legislation in committee to combat human trafficking by enhancing border security and increasing cooperation with law enforcement in Mexico and Latin America.”
Senator Rosen has consistently worked across the aisle to stop human trafficking. Last session, she helped introduce and pass the bipartisan Human Trafficking Prevention Act, which requires the National Human Trafficking Hotline to be posted in the restrooms of all U.S. planes, buses, trains, airports, bus stations, and rail stations.
