WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) joined legislation to protect every American’s right to access in-vitro fertilization (IVF) and other assisted reproductive technology that millions of Americans rely on to have children. The Access to Family Building Act would establish a legal right to access IVF and other assisted reproductive services, overriding any state effort to limit or ban such access and ensuring no one is prevented from trying to start or grow their family.
“Anti-choice extremists made it clear that overturning Roe v. Wade was just the beginning, and last week they took it a step further when the Alabama Supreme Court tried to block women’s access to IVF,” dijo el Senador Rosen. “This cruel decision is already hurting some women’s ability to begin or continue fertility treatments. I’m backing legislation to protect access to IVF treatments and safeguard Americans’ right to start or grow their families.”
Senator Rosen has been a leader in fighting back against efforts to restrict reproductive rights. She helped introduce the Let Doctors Provide Reproductive Health Care Act to protect doctors and other health care professionals from being prosecuted for providing reproductive care to their patients. Senator Rosen also helped introduce the Women’s Health Protection Act to protect reproductive freedoms in federal law. Additionally, Rosen helped introduce the Freedom to Travel for Health Care Act, legislation that would ensure legal protections for women traveling across state lines to receive reproductive care.
