WASHINGTON DC – This week, the U.S. Senate unanimously passed a bipartisan resolution that Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) helped introduce to commemorate the first full week of October as National Community Policing Week. The bipartisan resolution recognizes the service and sacrifice of law enforcement and underscores the importance of community policing. Additionally, the resolution encourages collaboration between civilians, law enforcement agencies, and public servants to find solutions to improve public safety, strengthen community relationships, and build trust.
“Nevada’s law enforcement officers work tirelessly to keep families across our state safe, including by strengthening the bonds between them and local communities,” dijo el Senador Rosen. “Last year, I had the honor of being accompanied to the State of the Union by a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officer who has been using innovative outreach strategies to reach the Latino community in Las Vegas. These law enforcement officers deserve our utmost respect and gratitude, which is why I’m proud to help pass this bipartisan resolution to honor their courageous work promoting strong relationships between agencies and the communities they serve.”
