Rosen Announces More Than $13 Million to Build Solar Facility in Humboldt County, Power Hundreds of Homes

LAS VEGAS, NV – U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) announced more than $13 million to fund the construction of a 5-MW solar power facility near McDermitt, Nevada. This project has the potential to power hundreds of homes in Nevada and lower costs for hardworking families, while also expanding access to renewable energy and creating good-paying jobs.

“Nevada continues to lead the nation in solar energy, bringing good-paying jobs to our state and helping us become more energy independent,” dijo el Senador Rosen. “I’ve been leading the efforts to secure federal investments in Nevada’s solar energy industry, and I’m glad to see this funding coming to build a new solar project in Northern Nevada. I’ll keep working across party lines to support this important sector and the good-paying jobs it creates.”

Senator Rosen has been a strong supporter of Nevada’s clean energy economy. She helped pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Inflation Reduction Act, which are making significant investments in Nevada’s clean energy economy and the jobs it supports. Senator Rosen has also been a strong supporter of Nevada’s solar industry, successfully leading the charge against solar tariffs that would have decimated the industry. For the last three years, Senator Rosen has sent letters urging Senate appropriators to fund the Department of Energy’s Geothermal Technologies Office to support a reliable, clean energy source for the United States that would allow the country to secure its energy grid.
