WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), a member of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee (HSGAC), released the following statement applauding news of a grant from the Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) awarded to Nevada. The grant, which totals $11,620,590.82, provides additional funding to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Now more than ever, Nevadans need access to quality health care, and health care providers across the country are struggling to meet the increased demand,” dijo el Senador Rosen. “Over the past year, health care providers have faced shortages of PPE, medications, equipment, and other resources. This additional funding will ensure Nevada’s medical centers and emergency management systems have adequate supplies, equipment, and other necessary resources needed to continue the fight against COVID-19.”
BACKGROUND: FEMA will award grants to four recipients across Nevada: the Renown Health Foundation / Renown Regional Medical Center, the Nevada Division of Emergency Management, Clark County, and the Renown Regional Medical Center – Alternate Care Site.
FEMA previously provided $34,861,772.45 in federal grants to these recipients, for a total of $46,482,363.26 since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
