LAS VEGAS, NV — Over the weekend, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) participated in a bipartisan congressional delegation visit to the Halifax International Security Forum. The delegation met with leaders from around the world to discuss global security challenges, including Russia’s war against Ukraine, escalating strategic competition with China, and cyber threats. Senator Rosen participated in a panel focused on how the United States and our allies can maintain our technological superiority and competitive advantage against autocratic adversaries.
“I was glad to join my colleagues for an important discussion at this year’s Halifax International Security Forum about how we can address the most urgent global security challenges in collaboration with our democratic partners,” dijo el Senador Rosen. “With increased efforts by our adversaries to undermine international peace and security, it’s critical that we work together. Our conversations were thoughtful and productive, and I look forward to continuing this work with my colleagues in Washington.”
Throughout the forum, Senator Rosen and her colleagues also met with leaders from around the world, including Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine, Olha Stefanishyna; leader of the Belarusian democratic movement Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya; President of Estonia, Alar Karis; Sweden’s Minister of Defense Pål Jonson; and Chief of Staff of the Polish Armed Forces, General Rajmund T. Andrzejczak.
Senator Rosen, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee and the NATO Observer Group, attended the forum alongside Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Jim Risch (R-ID), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), Chris Coons (D-DE), Tim Kaine (D-VA), and Mike Rounds (R-SD), as well as Representatives Michael McCaul (R-TX), Jason Crow (D-CO), and Sara Jacobs (D-CA).
