Rosen, Cortez Masto Applaud Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Grants Allocated to Nevada

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) — a member of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs — and Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) applauded the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for awarding $13,729,155 in preparedness grant funding to the state of Nevada for Fiscal Year 2019.

“Protecting the safety of Nevadans and those who visit our state is paramount, we want to applaud the Department of Homeland Security for supporting security efforts in our state,” said the Senators. “With this increased security infrastructure, local law enforcement will have access to additional resources to keep Nevadans and tourists safe. We will continue to do our part in Congress to support funding for programs that help improve security measures at home.”

BACKGROUND: Since coming to Congress, both Senators Rosen and Cortez Masto have consistently fought to increase funding for programs to ensure the safety of all Nevadans and the more than 42 million tourists that visit Nevada every year.
