As A Member Of The Group That Wrote The Airport Provisions Of The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Senator Rosen Fought To Secure This Historic Funding
WASHINGTON DC – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) announced that Harry Reid International Airport will receive $31 million in funding from the Airport Terminal Program of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to go toward major terminal improvements across the airport, including significant baggage system upgrades that will enhance the travel experience to Las Vegas. Senator Rosen worked closely with officials at Harry Reid International Airport to identify the need for this funding. She then helped create a program to address this need as a member of the bipartisan group that wrote the airport section of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and fought to secure this funding for Harry Reid International Airport.
“Las Vegas’ Harry Reid International Airport is a gateway to our state, bringing visitors from around the globe and helping make Las Vegas the world-class travel destination that it is,” dijo el Senador Rosen. “The travel and tourism industries are key to the success of Nevada’s economy. The improvements made possible through this funding that I secured for Harry Reid International Airport will make long-overdue improvements to modernize the airport, replace aging and outdated infrastructure, and improve traveler experience.”

By upgrading our baggage handling systems, we will be prepared to more efficiently serve a growing number of passengers.”
As Chair of the Senate’s Tourism, Trade, and Export Promotion subcommittee, Senator Rosen has been a leader in fighting for Nevada’s travel and tourism industry, including the airports. In October, Rosen joined members of the Nevada Congressional Delegation in a letter to Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg in support of Harry Reid International’s funding application for the Terminal Grant Program — a program Senator Rosen helped create through her work writing the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law as a member of its Airports Working Group. As of November, more than $58 million had been made available to Nevada’s airports through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
