At White House Conservation In Action Summit, Rosen Celebrated Designation Of Avi Kwa Ame As A National Monument
WASHINGTON DC – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) applauded the designation of the Avi Kwa Ame National Monument. Senator Rosen was present at an event at the Department of the Interior for the White House’s Conservation in Action Summit, where the President signed a proclamation establishing the Avi Kwa Ame National Monument.
“Today’s designation will preserve and protect an area of great cultural significance to Tribal nations for generations to come,” said Senator Rosen. “This sacred land is rich with natural beauty, diverse wildlife, and immense ecological importance. As a firm and strong supporter of the Avi Kwa Ame National Monument, it was an honor to join so many Nevadans to celebrate the permanent protection of this land.”
Senator Rosen has been a strong supporter of the Avi Kwa Ame National Monument. She worked tirelessly alongside the Nevada Congressional Delegation, Tribal communities, local stakeholders, conservation groups, and Administration officials to ensure all voices were represented and heard throughout the monument designation process. Last year, Senator Rosen celebrated the plan to designate this national monument.
