The $5 Million In Grants To Rehabilitate Airports In Nevada
WASHINGTON DC – U.S. Senators Jacky Rosen (D-NV) and Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) applauded the announcement of more than $5 million to Boulder City and Carson City airports to help improve their safety and efficiency. The funding comes from federal grants, with $1.4 million used to install new landing systems at Carson City Airport and $3.8 million to repair taxiways at Boulder City Airport.
“Nevada’s regional airports serve as gateways to our communities and are critical for our travel and tourism economy,” dijo el Senador Rosen. “I’m proud to announce these investments to improve conditions at these airports and increase safety.”
“Our travel and tourism economy relies on safe, efficient airports, which is why I’ve always pushed to deliver support for these critical infrastructure upgrades in our state,” said Senator Cortez Masto. “This grant funding will help airports across the state improve the travel experience for the millions of passengers who pass through our airports each year.”
Senators Rosen and Cortez Masto have worked hard to bring millions of dollars to Nevada to modernize Nevada’s airports. Thanks to the program Senator Rosen created in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which both Senators Cortez Masto and Rosen helped pass, Harry Reid International Airport received $31 million for terminal improvements, along with $14.2 million for Reno-Tahoe International Airport, Elko Regional Airport, and 22 other airports throughout Nevada. Senators Rosen and Cortez Masto continue to ensure the law delivers on its promise to repair America’s aging infrastructure by helping to provide Nevada with over $1.5 billion in infrastructure projects since its passage.
