Rosen, Cortez Masto Announce Over $160 Million in Nevada Transit Funds for Coronavirus Response

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senators Jacky Rosen (D-NV) and Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) released the following statement announcing transit funds for Nevada included in the bipartisan Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act that passed last month. The United States Federal Transit Administration (FTA) provided $167,493,508 in CARES Act grants to be used to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the coronavirus through the existing transit grants programs.

“During this trying time, it is critical that Nevada’s system for transportation is active and well maintained,” said the Senators. “A fully functioning transit system will be critical for providing means of travel for patients seeking care and for front-line health care workers going to and from hospitals and clinics. We voted to pass the CARES Act in order to provide Nevadans with resources to overcome this crisis, and will continue working in Congress to protect the health of Nevadans and maintain a robust transit system in the Silver State.”
