WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) announced that her office will return over $250,000 to the United States Treasury in money unspent from her official 2020 operating budget. This news marks over $850,000 that Senator Rosen will have returned to the Treasury during the last four years.
“As a Senator, it is my responsibility to ensure that hardworking Nevadans’ taxpayer dollars are properly managed,” said Senator Rosen. “I am pleased to announce that my office will be returning over $250,000 to the United States Treasury. I am proud of my office’s efforts to lead the way in good governance. I will continue working in Congress to find areas where we can reduce government spending while ensuring that our efforts are meeting the needs of the American people.”
BACKGROUND: Senator Rosen has supported a number of efforts to reduce government waste and abuse of taxpayer dollars.
Last year, Senator Rosen also returned over $250,000 to the U.S. Treasury.
During her time in the House of Representatives, then-Congresswoman Rosen returned over $350,000 to the Treasury. Then-Congresswoman Rosen’s office also successfully returned nearly $1 million in benefits to Nevada’s hardworking families.
